Beware of Christian Franchisesby Dave Elliott

Dealing with a Christian franchiser can give you a false sense of security. After all! A Christian would never scam another believer. Or would they? There are many dishonest Christians in business. When evaluating a Christian franchise, you need to do your homework. You must not rely on feelings to make your decision. Here are some practical ways to ensure that you make a wise purchase.

Evaluate the Product

The best way to evaluate the product offered by a Christian franchise is to poll the consumer. You will be able to quickly determine if the product is something that they really need. This is most important when the franchise that you are evaluating is offering a business service.

Inventive services can appear very enticing, especially when they are touted as being extremely profitable by savvy franchisers. Take the time to ask the consumer. If the idea of doing some market research makes the franchiser upset, take your money and run.

Talk to Other Franchisees

This is a crucial step in evaluating a Christian franchise. Many people believe that when they start a business, they will be an administrator, and someone else will do the mundane work. This could not be farther from the truth.

The Educated Franchisee: The How-To Book for Choosing a Winning FranchiseThe reality is that most franchisees work long hours and are quite involved in the day to day operations of their business. No one cares more about your business than you do, and countless businesses have failed when the owner decides to hire someone to replace them. Speak with other franchisees to determine what your hands-on role will be. You could very well discover that is quite different than you expected it to be.

Evaluate the Training

Training is one of the main things that you are paying for when you purchase a Christian franchise. Will the franchiser set up your computer and filing system? Will they be available in person, after the initial training, to help you through the complex challenges that you will face while you are learning the business. These are important questions that need to be answered before you purchase a franchise.

A Christian franchise can be a great way to provide for your family in uncertain times. Many companies provide excellent systems and training for success. Do your due diligence to ensure that your franchiser is one of them.
